FAQ

Body care routines for dry skin aim to reinforce the skin barrier and minimize the unpleasant sensations often caused by dryness. The skin should be gently cleansed with a body care product that does not strip its outer layer and provides the nutrients it needs. Atoderm Shower Gel respects the natural balance in normal to dry skin, while Atoderm Shower Oil softens and soothes dry and very dry skin. Both formulas contain niacinamide and glycerin. After showering, choose the moisturizing body care product in BIODERMA’s Atoderm range (cream, balm or gel-cream) best adapted to your skin and your preferred texture. Zinc gluconate is very effective at reducing itching and uncomfortable sensations, while niacinamide reinforces the skin barrier by boosting natural lipid production.

Cleansing is the most important (and delicate) step in any body care routine for dry skin. It’s best to use a soap-free cleansing product formulated with soothing active ingredients. Atoderm Shower Gel and Atoderm Shower Oil preserve and reinforce the skin’s hydrolipidic film. The skin’s barrier function is restored for lasting comfort. After showering, remember to moisturize your skin with a unctuous balm or cream to deliver nutrients. Key ingredients include essential fatty acids like Omega 3, 6 and 9, niacinamide and glycerin.

Body care routines for oily skin aim to rebalance sebum, which is produced in excess. This means using a gentle cleansing product formulated for oily skin that protects the skin’s hydrolipidic film. Sébium Foaming Gel respects the skin’s natural ecosystem and contains zinc sulfate for gentle purification, enabling you to target imperfections on your shoulders, décolleté and back. After showering, apply a non-greasy moisturizing product—as even oily skin needs to stay hydrated.

Whatever the cause of the hyperpigmentation, using an adapted body care can help reduce the appearance of marks. BIODERMA has developed hydrating anti-dark mark cream like Pigmentbio on sensitive areas such as the knees, armpits and elbows. In addition to pigment-unifying properties, the cream also contains glycerin to hydrate and soothe the skin. Over time, dark marks will fade.

With physiological aging of the skin, it can experience dryness and even more xerosis with unpleasant sensations such as irritation, flaking and itchy sensations. When the skin barrier lacks the right nutriments, it is unable to function correctly. Body care routines for older skin are similar to those applied to very dry skin to atopic-prone skin. We recommend opting for a gentle cleansing product containing essential fatty acids and niacinamide, like Atoderm Shower Oil. After showering, always apply a moisturizer that provides both water and lipids to nourish your skin. BIODERMA’s Atoderm Intensive Balm in case of severe dryness or Atoderm Ultra Cream in case of dryness, both hydrate and soothe skin immediately and over time. Essential fatty acids, niacinamide and zinc gluconate reduce sensations of discomfort and make the skin more supple.
